Jack W. Blizzard
Jack W. Blizzard, 82, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2006, the day after his 82nd birthday, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was a life long resident of Akron and owner of Blizzard Trophies for over 40 years. Jack enjoyed all sports, especially Cleveland teams. He was a veteran of WWII having proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in England. Jack later worked at Goodyear Aerospace before starting his own business. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Freida Blizzard; sister, Donna (Roy) Hamilton; and brother, Willard (Edna) Blizzard. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (nee Frank) Blizzard; daughter, Sandra (James) Memmer; son, Robert E. Blizzard; grandchildren, Bradley and Ashley Memmer; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, 1920 Krumroy Rd. where services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Larry Baldridge and Sam Rittenour officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
