Jack Deane Julian went home to live with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 23, 2013. Born in Parma, Mo. on November 21, 1936, Jack lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He is most known for his generosity to his family, to his Church, and to his community.
Jack retired from AMHA but his family remembers him as a man who always worked hard to give his children the very best. Over the years, he was a truck driver, hauled propane gas, and was self-employed in the construction business. After he retired, he drove for Martin Motors.
A long- time member of The Chapel, he served the church as an usher, part of the Bus Ministry, the food service, and actively involved with his Fellowheirs II Class. His dozens of beloved friends will most miss his willingness to serve, his fun-loving humor, and how he answered the question "how are you?" with, "If I was doing any better, it would be illegal." His love for children kept him involved with G.A.S.P. where he finger-printed children and was a long-time supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Jack loved to camp, fish, and square dance.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia (Jenny) Hawk Julian; his four daughters, Cindy, Kim, Brenda and Leanna; a beloved father-in-law to Troy, John, and Brian; "the best grandpa in the world" to Steven, Christina, Louis, Matthew, Taylor, and Maddie; great-grandfather to Victoria and Selina. He was greeted in Heaven by his son, Dr. Jack Julian, who passed away 19 months ago. The Julian Family wants to thank all of Jack's friends who have given him so much love throughout his life.
Calling hours will be on February 27th from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron Services will be held on February 28th, at 10 AM with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Park. The family views these events as a celebration of Jack's life and God's unfailing love.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent in Jack's honor to his beloved St. Jude Children's Medical Research Hospital.
