Jack G. DeLuca of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2019 at his home, after 54 years of life, five years of which he gifted to his loving wife, Pamela. He closed his eyes after battling cancer for 2 1/2 years and awoke in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jack was met in heaven by several loved ones that had gone before him. His grandfather, James Strunk, was his biggest influence growing up. His father, Frank DeLuca predeceased him after fighting cancer for several years as well.
He is survived by his mother, Juliana Willett DeLuca of Tallmadge; his son, Jack M. DeLuca; his step-children, Meagan (fiance, Ean Shankel) McFarland, Chris Honn-McFarland, Cami Sinclair, Dean Sinclair, Frank DeLuca, Andrea DeLuca and Ashley Rountree; his grandmother, Betty Strunk of Las Vegas; his siblings, Denise (Mark) Fettermen, Lea Simmons and Joe DeLuca; his wife's parents, Al and Cheryle Honn of Randolph; his wife's siblings, Jeff (Tricia) Honn and Steve Honn; and also his beloved nieces and nephews.
Jack was only 10 days old when he moved to California with his parents. He enjoyed walking along the beaches in his bare feet, chasing after sharks, falling off cliffs, tumbling down elevator retriever shafts and being showered with cyanide during lunch break at work. Whatever it was, Jack found humor in life. He loved his family, friends, and he will be greatly missed by all.
He was a member of The Chapel-Akron Campus.
