HERMAN, Jack Lee, Jr. Beloved husband, father, son and brother, was born November 10, 1965 in Ravenna, OH and died on October 10, 2014 in Akron, OH. Jack leaves behind his wife, Jody Dagg; children, Justin (Anna-Jeannine), Michael (Alicia), and Rachael; mother, Marlene Strausser and father, Jack Herman Sr. (Leah); sister, Shannon (John) Saxon; and grandsons, Jasper and Will. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Jack was known for his love of theater, generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. He could often be found lending his time to help with projects, designing sound for a show, or discussing the finer points of the latest Doctor Who episode. He was also Halloween's biggest fan, and a founder of the best backyard movie theater in Ohio. Jack's pride in his careers with the Portage County Sheriff as a Detective and at Veyance Technologies paled only in comparison to his pride in his family. Jack was a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and admired friend. Grilling expert, loud laugher, and member of the Ravenna Masonic Lodge, Jack will always be thought of with love. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 6pm to 9pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, and on Thursday, October 16, from 10am to 11am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am.
