Jack Holdren, 73, of Akron, passed away surrounded by his family after complications due to CLL, on June 10, 2021. He was born on June 22, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to late Forrest and Jenny May Holdren. Jack was a hard worker. Over the years he worked as a freight man for Spector Motor Freight for over 20 years, and retired from Bemis in 2016.
Jack had a heart of gold and never knew a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and treated everyone with kindness and politeness. Jack was a devoted collector of knives, Pepsi, and Santa Claus collectibles. Above all, Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Forrest, and Eddy; and sisters, Mary, Katie, and Alice.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Holdren; daughters, Kim (Bobby) Freeman and Kelly (Bill) Hall; sister, Jean (Everett) Rainer; grandchildren, Hollie (Aaron) Walder and Steve (Heather) Freeman; great-grandchildren, Zaiden, Mason, and Owen; and soon-to-be great-grandson, Jaxton; brothers-in-law, Dennis Skylis, and Ralph (Jeannie) Popp; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and beloved dog, Bell.
A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday June 26, 2021 from 2pm until 4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
