Jack L. Thompson

Jack L. Thompson, 86, of Cuyahoga Falls, went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2017. He was born in Akron on December 6, 1930 to the late Louis and Pearl Thompson.
Jack retired from F.W. Albrecht Grocery Co. after 46 years of service, having managed stores in both Cuyahoga Falls and Hudson. He was a past president of Cuyahoga Falls Travel Club and a member of Grace Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty; daughter, Nancy Sawyers; and brothers, Sam and Ray Thompson. He will be dearly missed by his sons, Jim (Cathy) and Bob (Linda) Thompson; son-in-law, Glen Sawyers; brothers, Jim and Charlie Thompson; grandchildren, Heather, Christine (Sean), Michael (Rachel), Daniel (Joann), and Kristi (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Ben and Liam; many other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may visit at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Stephens officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Falls Cancer Club, PO Box 3244, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
