Jack W. Pennington, 65, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly at home March 14, 2012. He was born in Lakewood, OH on September 22, 1946 to the late George and Beatrice Pennington.
Jack entered the Army in 1964 doing two tours of Vietnam. He spent his career as an optician with Union Eye Care. Jack was quick witted with a dry sense of humor and a unique ability to make everyone laugh. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia; children, Dan (Penny), Rebecca (Diarre) Hamilton, Diane (Don) Dumke-Campbell, Christine (Dave) Dumke-Swinnerton, Paul Dumke; grandchildren, Jacob and Margaret Bailey, Christian (Zai) Pennington, Dylon Campbell, Brandon, Cody and Brett Swinnerton; great-grandchild, Isabella Swinnerton-Martino; sister, Patricia Ambro.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 18 from 2-4 PM and on Tuesday, March 20 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with funeral services being held at 11:30 AM.
Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
