Jackie Edward Mangus passed away November 23, 2007 after a long illness. Born in Akron on March 18, 1923, Jackie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a long distance truck driver all of his life, with a record of 5 million miles without an accident. He retired from Norton Co. Jackie was happiest "tinkering" in his garage or basement workshops. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reda; son, Jackie; sister, Evelyn; and brother, Bob. He is survived by his loving wife, Heidi; son, Ron Mangus; daughters, Linda (John) Baugher and Diana (Bob) McCary; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie. There will be no services. Condolences may be sent to 456 Broadview Rd., Tallmadge, OH 44278.
