Jackie L. Gear

Jackie L. Gear, age 71, of Hartville, passed away on Wednesday February 28, 2024 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on April 4, 1952 to the late Abram Ford and Margaret Jane (Jones) Coffindaffer. Jackie moved to Ohio with her family as a young girl. She met and married her Ellet High School sweetheart Robert "Bob" Gear. Jackie when raising her family had a catering business and specialized in weddings. once her girls were in middle school, she started her career as a medical secretary and later retired from Akron General Medical Center. She had many hobbies including cooking, camping, crafting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Bob; daughters Melissa (Jeff) Gear Rose, Kristina (Dominic) Gear Simko; grandchildren Justin Watson, Emma Rose, Saryn Simko, Shawn Simko; father-in-law Clarence "Tink" Gear; sister Jane (Carl) Barton; sister-in-law Brenda Gear; and many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her sister Saundra (Nelford "Don") Hardway; and brother Russell Coffindaffer; mother-in-law Dorothy Chandler Gear; sister-in-law Patty Kendall; and brother-in-law Clarence "Bud" Gear.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Uniontown Community Center, 3696 Apollo St., Uniontown, OH 44685.
