Jacqueline Madigan Callihan
Jacqueline Madigan Callihan, 64, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 after a long battle with illness. Jacqueline grew up in Silver Lake, Ohio. She was a 1966 graduate of St. Vincent High School, and a 1970 graduate of the first nursing class at the University of Akron. Jacqueline worked many years in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children's Medical Center of Akron. Jacqueline's greatest joy was being a wife and a mother. She spent many years volunteering for her daughter Erin's school through the PTA.
Jacqueline is reunited in death with her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Madigan and sister Anne Madigan Fassnacht. She is survived by husband William of Wytheville, VA and daughter Erin Marie of North Royalton, OH. In addition she leaves behind sisters Susan Madigan of Silver Lake, OH, and Margaret (Douglas) Knoyer of Munroe Falls, OH. She is also survived by brothers Michael (Lori) Madigan of Sagamore Hills, OH and John (Dodie) Madigan of Silver Lake, OH, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jackie was loved by all who knew her and truly touched many lives through her work at the Children's Hospital and her volunteer work. She will be greatly missed.
Family and friends may call on Friday October 26 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.
