Jacqueline “Jackie" L. Harris peacefully went home with the Lord, surrounded by family, on October 11th, 2024. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Joe Harris, her brother Terry (Lillian) Briggs, her brother-in-law Vince “Bing” Harris, her daughters Patricia (Jeff) Krager, Michelle (Brad) Burdette, her son Joe (Andrea) Harris, her grandchildren Bruce (Christina) Krager, William (Miranda) Krager, Dillon (Mary) Burdette, Dakota (Erica) Burdette, Derrek (Gabbie) Burdette, and her great-grandchildren Olivia Krager, Magnolia Krager, and Kinsley Burdette; many beloved nieces, nephews and their families.
She was born February 14th, 1941 in Akron, Ohio, and was the only sister to three brothers Charles Briggs, William Briggs, and Terry Briggs. Her mother Sarah F. Briggs instilled a love of caring and compassion that followed her throughout her life as she built her beautiful family with her loving husband Joe Harris. Joe and Jackie started their life together on Adams Street in downtown Akron where Jackie worked for Cintas (Uniwear) for 30 years. During this time they moved to their dream home in Uniontown, Ohio. It was here where she continued to impact the lives of everyone she encountered. Jackie’s love for her children continued as the first grandchild Bruce was born in 1987. From that day she began to focus on spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could. Soon four more grandchildren came along and she dedicated herself to supporting all of them as best as she could. Jackie would support her grandchildren by going to sporting events and cheering for their teams, cooking her famous breakfast, teaching them the best lessons, and most importantly giving them all of her love.
Jackie enjoyed making crocheted afghans and baby clothes for all of her family, listening to classic country music, and making holiday celebrations centered around family. Jackie was the beloved matriarch of the Harris Family and her reason for life was always to create love within her family. She was the biggest supporter of her husband, children, grandchildren, and most of all her great ‘grandbabies’. For those of you who knew Jackie, she was the light of the family and gave everything she had to everyone she knew. The family would like to genuinely thank Heartland Hospice of Akron, Laura Krager, and Ryan McGlothlin for all of their support as well as for coming to our home and supporting us.
Per her wishes, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name to continue her memory.
