James M. Carpenter (Jim)
James M. Carpenter, 50, of Akron, passed away June 7, 2006. Jim served as a firefighter for the Akron Fire Department. Early in his career, he also worked as a paramedic and an instructor for the department. In his free time, Jim enjoyed restoring classic cars and motorcycling. He loved to take touring trips of the Southwest on his bike. Jim was preceded in death by his father, John Carpenter. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 27 years, Lori; mother, Pearl Carpenter; sisters, Irma and Annmarie Carpenter; parents-in-law, Ed and Joan Rodgers; and brothers-in-law, Rick (Kathy), Joe, Bob, and Mark (Debbie) Rodgers; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with Mr. Ron Rogers officiating.
