James L. Collins Sr.

James L. Collins Sr, 76, passed away on March 18, 2022. He was born on August 31, 1945 in Uniontown, PA to Russell and Gwendolyn Collins and was raised in Ronco, PA.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He moved to Cleveland, Ohio as a young man to seek employment and retired after 42 years of service with Alcoa. He was also a proud member of the UAW Local #1050. Jim loved his PA roots, "loafing" on the front porch while talking to family and neighbors, watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. Above all, Jim loved and supported his wife and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Francis "Deedle" Hixon, Louise Alleva, Betty "Sis" Kaylor, Charles "Bud" Collins, William "Bill" Collins Sr., John Collins, and Marie Hice.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Collins; sons, James (Kim) Collins Jr., Jeff Collins, and Russell (Lisa) Collins; grandchildren, William, Dennis, Desiree, Jeff Jr., Ella, and Brad; sister, Rosalie McGalla of Ronco, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
