James D. Artis
James (Jim) Artis, born October 26, 1973, died suddenly April 5, 2012.
Jim lived in Akron all of his life. He was a carpenter by trade. Jim enjoyed watching his son Zack pitch baseball for Ellet High.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Artis. Jim is survived by son, Zachary Artis; mother, Gail Artis; brother, Chuck (Tina) Artis; nephew, Andrew Artis; grandmother, Norma Fleshman; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 10, from 4 to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 7 pm., Rev. Bob Denton officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at the Akron Police Credit Union for his son, Zachary Artis.
