James D. "Jimmy" Barker, 69, passed away on April 5, 2013, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born on December 6, 1943 in Abingdon, VA and most recently resided in Stow. Jimmy retired from Revco on Howard Street where he enjoyed many years working as a Pharmacist. He loved the sun, spending time in Arizona, cruising in his Jeep, Ohio State, and his rescue cat, Buddy.
Preceded in death by his son, Charlie. Survivors include his children, Susan Barker, Ben Barker, Joe (Natalie) Barker; one grandchild on the way; brother, Roger (Janet); sisters, Esta (Bill), Edwina (John), and Trudy; and his buddy, Dale.
Cremation will take place. Inurnment will be Wednesday, 2pm, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
You were an inspiration to all of us. You fought a battle of pain with dignity and grace; you saw we suffered with you, yet, you were concerned about our pain not yours. Dad, you are truly our hero. You are now out of pain, but our pain is still with us. We love you and miss you very much. "We meet again, Charlie, this time its forever. Tell me there are no tears in heaven, Charlie!"
