James H. Dickey, III, "Jim", passed away on September 7, 2017 after a short illness. He was born on November 10, 1949 in Akron, the son of the late James H. and Mary Alice Riley Dickey, Jr., and was a life-long area resident.
Jim graduated from North High School; he enlisted in the US Army and served honorably in the Vietnam War. He then worked as a truck driver with 7-UP Bottling Co. for 44 years, retiring in 2016.
Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former M. Patricia Imes; his children, Stacey (John) Yanak, James (Lisa) Dickey, IV, Elyce (Matthew Zeman) Dickey, and Jessica (Jason Fitzgerald) Dickey; his grandchildren, Allyson, Alaina, Nolan, Tristan "TJ", Brynnley, Jayana, and Janaya. His siblings also survive, Jean Dickey, Mary Jane Dickey, Susan (Stephen) Clark, and William (Josephine) Dickey; his niece, nephews, great-niece, and great-nephew also survive.
The family would like to thank University Hospital Hospice for their kind care during his last days.
Cremation has taken place and per his request, there will not be any calling hours or services.
