James O. Dudones, 77, of Akron, passed peacefully on Sunday June 3, 2018 (that's how much he hated Mondays). He was just a kid from the South side of Akron, he served in the US Army, was an optician by trade, loved animals and all things Cleveland sports (and no I guess the Browns didn't win one before....). He loved mellow 70's music, laughing and hanging out with his brothers, sleeping in, eating out and philosophical talks about sports, politics and popular culture. Legend has it that he once hit a foul ball off the famed Eddie "the King" Feigner (although this cannot be confirmed).
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Olive Dudones. He is survived by his sons, Jim (Lea) Dudones and Matt (Julie) Dudones; brothers, Donald (Carol) Dudones and Richard (Janine) Dudones; step-sons, Butch Schweyer and Mike (Kelly) Schweyer; step-daughter, Christina (Rob) Courtney-Boyle; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his second family at the Stow-Glen Retirement Village. He will be missed.
Friends and family are welcome to visit from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A memorial service will take place at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to either Stow-Glen Retirement Village at 4285 Kent Rd., Stow, OH 44224 Attn: Ruth, or to Great Lakes Hospice at www.greatlakescaring.com
