James "Jimmy" Edwin Davis Jr. 43, of Akron Ohio passed away suddenly Monday, May 2, 2011. Jimmy was born in Akron, Ohio & spent his life between Garrett, Pennsylvania and Akron, Ohio. He graduated from North High School, Class of 1985. Jimmy, former owner of Davis Concrete Construction Company, was employed with Perrin Asphalt & Concrete. He loved his work in concrete. Jimmy had a great passion for hunting & fishing. He was a member of the Hearthstone Hunt Club, Plaster & Cement Mason Local 109, and Garrett Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his loving parents James Edwin Sr. & Barbara Davis; Brother: Anthony Jay Davis; Sister: Brenda Davis Richard & husband (David), Debbie Davis & husband (Ben), and Diana L. Davis. His beloved cat "Oscar", many nieces and nephews, and an enormous amount of close family and friends. Calling hours will be on Thursday, May 5, from 5 to 9 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, where a funeral service will be held Friday, May 6, at 1 pm. Immediately following "A Celebration Of Life" with be held at the Mogadore Moose Lodge, 4095 Mogadore Rd. A viewing & visitation will be held Saturday, May 7, from 1 to 3 pm in Garrett, Pennsylvania at the Garrett Pentecostal Church, Walker Street. A funeral service will be at 3pm with funeral procession at the Highland Cemetery in Garrett. Fellowship will immediately follow at the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department.
