James E. Evans, "Jim Ed", age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born to parents James and Mabel Evans on September 7, 1943 in Ironton, OH.
Jim Ed was a proud U.S. Veteran having served in the Air Force and he also joined the Kentucky National Guard. He was also a lifetime charter member of the American Legion, Post 385. He grew up in Russell, Kentucky and in 2005, he moved to Uniontown, OH with his wife, Bev.
He enjoyed fishing and watching UK Wildcats basketball. He "bled blue" and was a huge fan. Jim Ed loved to tell jokes and was always the life of the party. In a room full of silence, his personality was so loud. Jim Ed loved movies, trivia, politics and books. Jeopardy was his favorite show. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren and spending time with them.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Connie Rice; and daughter, Kelly Deboard.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Beverly Evans, of 21 years; children, Chris Evans (Tammie Collmar), Leslie Sloan, Kim Maczko, Ed (Sue) Ellis; grandchildren, Carter, Cash, Bryson, Josh, Katie, Sean (Amanda), Nick (Tiffany), and Victoria (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Kadance and Oliver; sisters, Sue (Jim) Vance and Judy Hedges; several nieces and nephews, and other family members.
A celebration of Jim Ed's life will be held at a later time by his family and friends. He will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Grayson, KY on January 21, 2021 at 1:00pm where a graveside service will be held.
