James Robert Flinn, "JR", "Bob", "Jim Bob", age 87, of Manchester, Ohio, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his home.
He was born on December 16, 1929 in Connellsville, PA, the son of the late Dewey and Eliza Taylor Flinn.
JR was an honorably discharged US Air Force veteran during the Korean War.
Mr. Flinn was an electrical engineer, retiring from Ohio Edison. He loved being outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. He supported many local sports teams, as he was a sports enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Elder, "The Rock", whom he married on June 10, 1967; his son, Stephen ("Toots") Flinn; his step-son, Danny (Rhonda) Adams; his grandchildren, Sean (Nyomi), Kieve, Shannon, Amy, Marcus, Macklin, and Olivia; his great-grandchildren, Abigail, Michael, Brayden, Savannah, and Benjamin; his siblings also survive, Jack (Sue) Flinn, and Beth Hall; also surviving is his life long friend, "son", John (Kathy) Donston.
Other than his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, Michael Flinn; and his brother, William "Bill" Flinn.
There will not be any services and all arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
