James Raymond Guest, "Jimmy", age 56, of Akron, Ohio, died on May 2, 2018 at his home.
He was born on September 22, 1961 in Akron, the son of Barbara Guess, with whom he lived, and the late Howard Guess.
Jimmy enjoyed football and baseball. He was inducted into the Ellet Football Hall of Fame. His deafness didn't keep him from playing all kinds of sports. Jimmy was in the newspaper on a regular basis, when he was in high school. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1980. Jimmy was an active member of the Akron Deaf Club. He loved hanging out with his friends. At one point, in his early 20s, he lived in Florida for about 20 years.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his son, Jacob James Guest of New Port Richey, FL; his only sister, Sandra Guest (her companion, Tony Seidel) of Akron; one nephew, Tod (Sandi) Guest of Akron; and one great-nephew and two great-nieces, Brandon, Angel and Haley Guest. His uncle, Harry Conner; and three cousins, Daniel (Deanna) Conner, Jeffrey (Kelly) Conner, and Julie (Jeffrey) Goff and all of their children. Jimmy also has two best friends, Jaime Lehr and Joey Wallace.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Monday, May 7, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ellet Athletic Association, 2204 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44312, in Jimmy's memory.
