James A. Hardman
James A. Hardman, 28, of Akron, passed away suddenly on November 13, 2005. James graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1995 and The University of Akron in 2000 with a degree in cartography and computer drafting. He served with the Akron Police Department and was a member of the F.O.P. James was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Helen Hardman; and uncle James M. McVan. Survivors include his parents Michael and Marilyn Hardman; grandparents James R. and Marilyn McVan; brothers Jerry (Kara), Dan (Patti), and Jon; nieces Hannah, Jenna, and Elizabeth; nephews Andrew and Joseph; aunt Patricia McVan; uncle Thomas (Mena) McVan; cousins Mike McVan, Mindy Woodard, Cathy Story, Tom McVan, Brian McVan, and Phillip McVan; lifelong friend Brian (Kim) Merriman; and the gang from Tallmadge. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to all his friends from the Akron Police Department for their support--especially Kevin Evans and family, the Murphy brothers, Dan Bickett, Jimmy Buchanan and Dan Pastor. Calling hours will be Thursday, 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service Friday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home, Fr. Paul Rosing officiating.
