James Steve Juhasz, "Jim", age 74, of Akron, Ohio, passed away, peacefully, with his family by his side on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
James was born in Akron, on July 8, 1948, the son of the late Steve and Vera Louise (nee Cook) Juhasz Jr.
James was an honorably discharged US Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He served as a Bishop in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also was a Boy Scout Leader and earned his Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver.
Other than his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jonathon "Scott" Juhasz; and his brother, Robert "Bob" Juhasz.
James is survived by the love of his life, the former Bonnie Brooke, whom he married on May 26, 1968. They went on to have six children, James, Dawn, Jody, Stacy Juhasz and Megan Hillegas; 12 grandchildren, Cody, Brittny, Jordan, Jesse, Jamie, Zachary, Kylee, Gabby, Jackson S., Noah, Jackson T. and Madisyn; and three great-grandchildren and one on the way.
James' siblings also survive, Joyce Leisek, Charles Don (Pam) Juhasz, Bill Juhasz and Ron (Melanie) Juhasz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 106 East Howe Road, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278, where Bishop Scott Miller will celebrate James' life.
Family and friends may visit from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Friday, December 9, 2022 and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
James will be buried in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray costs of the funeral service.
