James "Jim" Kamm, of Akron, Ohio, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones on December 20, 2021 at the age of 66, after a two and half year battle with cancer.
Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years Teri; his daughters, DeAnna Lamtman (Dave), Jackie McClary (Michael), Lindsay Klodt (Jarrod); his son, Rodney Brown (Dawn); his grandchildren, Breanna (Mitchell), Robbie (Erica), Jacob, Sam, Lyla, Parker, Kohl, Lincoln, and Jojo; his great-grandson, Jameson; his mother, Dorothy; his brother, John Kamm (Georgia) and his sister, Linda White (Chuck).
He is preceded in death by his father, John Kamm, and his nephew, Mark White.
Jim was born on May 3, 1955 in Akron, Ohio to John and Dorothy Kamm.
He graduated from Garfield High School in 1973, and continued his education to pursue a career as a machinist. He
worked for 36 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a tire builder, and also dedicated his time to helping his co-workers through his work with the union, occupying numerous leadership positions over the years.
He married the love of his life, Teri, in 1991, and they spent their years together raising their children, traveling, and always finding ways to have fun together. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed golfing, cooking for his family, and meeting with friends over lunch or dinner. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to attend a sporting event, concert, or recital, and always remembering to bring a piece of candy, just for them.
Jim was a kind hearted man who was always willing to go the extra mile for those he loved. Everyone who knew him knew his big laugh, which he was generous with, and which lit up the room. His humor, his laugh, and his great love for everyone will be immensely missed.
