James F. Kirby, 75, passed away on January 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 30, 1949 the son of the late Fred L. and Bessie E. Kirby. Jim retired after 43 years of dedicated service from East Manufacturing. Whether he was repairing a friend's vehicle or tackling a project of his own, Jim approached his work with passion and precision. He was always fixing something for anybody that needed help.
Jim was a remarkable athlete and a proud member of the Ohio Silverado's, a team that achieved great success in the world of softball and his proudest accomplishment was winning one World Championship. He also secured an impressive eight Tournament Championships during his career as a player. Jim was also proud to be inducted into the softball hall of fame. Jim's competitive spirit and teamwork were evident on and off the field, and he cherished the bonds he created with his teammates over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Charmaine S. Kirby; children Brandi (Bryan Siegman) Reese; he was a proud PAPA to his grandchildren whom he adored Tyler, Kenzie, Tori, and Brooklyn; siblings Joyce, Ed, Larry, Gary, and Liesa; and many nieces, nephews and many many friends.
Per Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the spring - date to be determined.
As we remember Jim, he had a unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community, making a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.
