James Michael Lay
James "Mike" Lay, 70, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2012. He served as a loving caregiver to his mother for 15 years until her death in 2005. Mike graduated from the University of Akron and was co-founder of CenWeld in Cuyahoga Falls. He was passionate in his pursuit of knowledge, technology, history, medicine, and American Muscle Cars. A generous and compassionate son and brother, he will be greatly missed. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Aileen Lay, and nephew Douglas Lay. A visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, from 11 am to 1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a sharing of memories to follow at 1pm. Mike's burial will take place immediately following at Hillside Memorial Park.
