James L. Learn was born June 8, 1941 in Akron, Ohio and passed away peacefully April 13, 2017 with his family at his side.
Jim gave 20 years of service to General Tire before the plant closed, and 17 years of service to Martin Wheel before retiring in 2002. He was the good looking guy in the blue '66 Vette, the guy with the funky dance moves, always the life of the party, never without a story to be told in agonizing detail. Bunk, as he was known to many, was also the most generous and genuine friend one could ever have.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynda, and his parents, Leonard and Dorothy. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Susan Learn, son and daughter-in-law, Mick and Liz Learn, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Terry Vernon, sister, Jill Stoll, and grandchildren, Drew and Brittany Learn.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 11 am-1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Jim will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Rd. Ste 30, Twinsburg, OH 44087
