James Louis Lange
A strong Christian man who loved the Lord dearly was carried home in the arms of Jesus during the night of January 29, 2012, after 88 well-spent years with us here. A wonderful son and brother, Jim was raised in Chicago, Illinois. Jim served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II and returned home to Akron as a married man raising four children, Peggy (Foltz), Chris, Karl, and Lauretta (Wayman). Jim retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 42 years. He was also one of the finest drummers and played with many bands over 60 years. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years and mother of his children, Betty June (Leidig) and his two sons, Chris and Karl, Jim leaves his dear wife of 16 years, Ada (Trexler); also, his two daughters and seven grandchildren. His family, dear friends, and fellow musicians loved Jim dearly. He surely will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Thursday February 2 from 12-2 followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Steve Bucy officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH. Military honors provided by American Legion Post 449. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to World Outreach Center, PO Box 3478, Fort Mill, SC 29708.
