James Maximillian Werner

James Maximillian Werner, 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2009. James was born on July 10, 1925 to the late Maximillian and Bernadine Werner. James served with the US Army and retired from General Tire after 40 years of service. He was a member of New Horizons Christian Church. James was active in the Firestone Prime-Timers and was a lifetime member and former governor of the Mogadore Moose #1082. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Martin and brother Walt Werner. He is survived by his wife Virginia, of 64 years; daughters Sheryl (Paul) Howiler, Virginia Stephan, and Margaret (Howard) Lumsden; sons James, Jr. and Paul; brothers Thomas, Larry, and Robert; grandchildren Larie, Rebekah, and Brigette Stephan, Troy and Duane Martin; great-grandchildren Joshua Stephan, Remington, Macy, Mallory, and Cedrick Martin; and many dear friends. Calling hours will be Sunday, 2-5 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a Moose service at 4:30 p.m. Funeral service Monday, 11 a.m. at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Horizons Christian Church.
