James Randall "Randy" Nestor, 64, of Akron, Ohio, passed away at home in the arms of his loving daughter on March 20, 2024.
Randy, born in Akron on June 30, 1959, was a devoted Browns fan who enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles, as well as restoring old furniture. His passion for these hobbies brought joy to those around him. He took great pride and pleasure in being a dad and grandpa to his daughter and grandchildren and often gifted his family members with the items he had re-purposed.
He is survived by his father, Bob Nestor; brother, Mark Nestor; sister, Teri Marino (Larry); daughter, Melissa Nestor (Marcas); grandson, James Lee Nestor; granddaughter, Nevaeh Richardson; as well as many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended cherished lifelong friends and family.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Nila Rose Nestor; grandmother, Mildred McLaughlin (Bill) and grandfather, Wayne Poling; as well as his beloved aunt, Marilyn Bader (Harry).
Randy attended Forest Hill Primary School and Ellet High School where he forged many friendships that lasted into his adult years.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced by the family at a later date. As many of you may know, Randy always had a soft spot for animals, especially the many stray cats near his home that he fed and often took in (or convinced others to!). In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to your local animal shelter/rescue in his name to aid in their mission to care for so many homeless animals in our area.
