James T. Nicodemus, of Akron, OH, passed away on July 23, 2017 after a battle with COPD. Jim was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather. Jim was born on April 27, 1941 to the late Donald and Mildred Nicodemus. He was number 4 out of 7 children. He graduated from East High School in Akron, and he lived in Akron for most of his life. He married his first wife, Burma and they had five children whom he adored. Jim worked at Goodyear and various other places. He loved watching his children play sports. He played softball, golf (I believe his clubs may still be in a pond somewhere), cards, fishing, hikes, and rides with his children in the car.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Mildred Nicodemus, sisters, Marilyn (Joe) Marton, and Barbara (Eddie) Grayshock. Jim is survived by his second wife Donna; daughters, Chrissy Nicodemus, Michelle (Mark) Warrington, and his sons, Mike Nicodemus, Bryan (Tracy) Nicodemus, and Matt (Meredith) Nicodemus; step-children, Cindy and Aaron; siblings, Donald (Irene) Nicodemus, Eric (Helen) Nicodemus, Rick (Eva) Nicodemus, and Pam Nicodemus; grandchildren, Roy, Kevin, and Chelsea; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Jim had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed. Special mention to his companion Jesse, his fur baby in heaven.
A memorial service will be held in Jim's honor on August 7, 2017 at Tallmadge United Methodist Church, Tallmadge, OH. The family will receive guests at 10:30 a.m., with a service to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paws and Prayers Animal Rescue P.O. Box 67166, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44222.
