Major James W. Perego, 78, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed peacefully at home on January 26, 2022. James was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Army as a military police officer. He retired after 23 years. He also retired from Jobs and Family Services after 25 years. He attended both Kent State University and Case Western Reserve. James was an avid reader who enjoyed a good cup of coffee, but above all he cherished spending time with his family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda Perego; son, David Perego of Orville; daughter, Lee Ann Perego-Chewning of Cuyahoga Falls; step-daughter, Shela Snyder of Akron; grandchildren, Dillon (Kelsey), Trevor, Lucas, and Vincent Perego, Jordan Chewning, and Shelby and Lexie Born; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Dolly.
James will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A service with military honors will be conducted at a later date.
