James D. Rasnick

James D. Rasnick, 68, passed into the arms of Jesus on August 19, 2023. He was born on September 5, 1954 the son of John and Dorothy Rasnick. James graduated from Field High School and then graduated from Akron University with his bachelors in Business Administration. He retired with over 25 years of dedicated service from Kent State University. James was a longtime active member of the German Family Society and was a proud member of the Masons. He enjoyed running track and playing bag pipes. He had many achievements but his greatest was his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Rasnick; and brother John F. Rasnick.
James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Hilda M. Rasnick; mother Dorothy Rasnick; daughters Allison (Joshua) Burdeshaw, and Erica (Derek Smith) Rasnick; beloved grandchildren Karsten, Eva, Juliana, Emmerich, Madelyn, Landon, and Dustin; brother Robert (Wendy) Rasnick; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will held at 11:00am Thursday, August 24th with Pastor Dave deVries officiating.
Interment will be held at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Suffield Township Fire Department.
