JAMES FRANKLIN RUTAN
James Franklin Rutan, 56, of Akron, passed away September 6, 2001 at Akron City Hospital. He was born January 31, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to the late Walter & Margaret (Rowan) Rutan. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Kittyhawk from 1962 - 1964. Mr. Rutan belongs to the American Legion #611 and Eagles #2238. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jane (Sycks) Rutan; daughter Wendy (Wade) Robinson of Stow; sons Scott Rutan of Kent, Larry Rutan of Akron; sisters Beulah Milliken of Orrville, Doris (Art) Seckel of Sumpter, SC; brothers Carroll Rutan of Cuygahoga Falls, Warren (Sally) Rutan of Akron; grandchildren Doug, Sean, Paige; best friends, Dick and BeeGee Garinger and Larry and Eula Thomas. Friends and family may call on Sunday, September 9th from 2-5 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chuck French officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
