James S. Chapman, 53, of Akron, passed away February 12, 2008. James was born May 15, 1954. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, camping, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Chapman; stepfather, Paul Welfley; and fiancee, Julie Ramsey. He is survived by his mother, Rose Marie Welfley; sisters, Janey (David) Motz and Cathy (Jay) Villilo; nephews, William (Denise) Grubb, Dane Grubb, Brian Sweat, and Brandon McKee; great-niece, Samantha Grubb and great-nephew, Nicholas Grubb; many other cousins, aunts, and uncles from Barberton and New Martinsville, WV. James also leaves many good friends, including his best friends, Eric Latchaw and Robin Harris; his camping family in Clearwater; and all his South Carolina friends, especially Ed Latchaw. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Joseph Lee officiating. If desired, donations may be made to Pebble Creek Nursing Home or Hospice of Summa.
