James William Seeley

James William Seeley Sr, "Jim", age 80, of Mogadore, Ohio, died on December 18, 2022.

He was born on September 22, 1942 in Wadsworth, Ohio, the son of the late Harry Robert and Jane (nee Sanders) Seeley.

Jim was retired from Goodyear Aerospace/Meggit here in Akron as a draftsman. While he was at work, he was President of the Foremans Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, attending music concerts and dining out. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, the former Robin Gentry, whom he married on September 22, 1979; his son, James (Teresa) Seeley Jr and his daughters, Scarlett Begly and Hannah (Adam) Brooks; his grandchildren, Alesha Grant, Theresa Grant, Zachary Seeley, Veronica Seeley and Hayden Herbst; his several great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, Todd Herbst; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his two daughters, Holly Grant and Heather Herbst; and also his two brothers, Harry (Mae) and Robert (Ruth) Seeley.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM where everyone will be invited to speak if they wish during the calling hours.

The family would like to invite everyone to bring a card, write a sentiment, or bring a photo, to be placed in his casket.

James will be privately buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, Ohio on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest Men's Shelter, with a monetary donation, new or gently used clothing, in Jim's memory.
