James "Jim" Smith

James "Jim" "Smitty" Smith, age 76 of Mogadore left this world on Saturday, July 16, 2022. He was born in Akron on November 8, 1945, the son of the late Francis and Beatrice {Swanson} Smith.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Smith.

Jim suffered several years from dementia.

He will always be loved by his wife Cindy; daughter Heather (Wayne) Hazeldine; grandchildren Ceri and Teagan Hazeldine; step-daughters Tina Thompson (Jim Dukes) and Shellie (Jeff) Jones; step-sons Dean and Adam Zents; step-granddaughters Ashley (Andrew) Haas and Britney (Austin) Kirkbride; step-grandsons Joe (Allee) Brewer, Andrew (Katy) Menegos and Doug (Nicole) Gaston; step-great-grandchildren Avery and Baker Haas and Kayden; sister Shelly Conklin; niece Stephanie Conklin; nephew Steve Conklin; and many other dear extended family and friends.

Jim sold machine tools until his retirement, then began serving individuals with developmental disabilities, and excelled at both.

Jim was the most selfless, caring, kind, loving person. I'm sure he's in heaven enjoying the airplanes and hummingbirds. I love you dearly, and we'll all miss you immensely. We will always carry your memory in our hearts, until we meet again.
