James A. Spalding
James A. Spalding, 82, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Margaret on March 22, 2007. He was born January 4, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to the late Joseph E. & Henrietta (Bradshaw) Spalding. James was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. In additon to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. (Davis) Spalding and his sister, Orene Stanley. He is survived by his daughters, Janice (Rick) Watts, Deborah (Charles) Eden and Margaret Dunlap (Ron Carmack); son, James A. Spalding; grandchildren, Michael Miller, Charles Eden III, Jason Eden, Heather Eden and Melissa Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Avery and Samantha Eden; sisters, Ernie Eberhardt, Rita Woodling and Joyce (Al) Cramer; brother, Bill Spalding. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Pebble Creek Nursing Home for their love and support. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
