James "Jimbo" Alexander Sumitra passed away on August 16, 2023 at the youthful age of 41. The only child to the late Joshua and Devika Sumitra, James was a lifelong resident of Northeastern Ohio, with most of his time being in Akron.
A proud graduate of Ellet High School with the class of 2000, James continued his education at the University of Akron and graduated in 2007 with his Bachelors' Degree in Network Engineering. After many years in the field, James landed his dream job at Cisco Systems Inc., where he enjoyed learning and building on his vast knowledge in the IT industry. Included in those 22 years, he began dating his wife, Lindsey, and they were inseparable ever since. They were blessed with two amazing children and worked hard to build the beautiful life that they have today. Throughout his life, James touched the hearts of many others and was truly an angel walking this earth. He was a dedicated son to his parents and cared for them all the way up until their passing. James loved his wife and children with every fiber of his being and was a huge role model to his niece and nephew, Kaylee and Lucas. He loved with all of his heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
In his spare time, James enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and WWE. He recently took up creating hilarious TikTok videos to share with the love of his life, family, and friends, which they will always cherish.
James will be dearly missed, but never forgotten, by his loving wife of eight years, Lindsey; daughter Abigail, "Abby"; son, Joshua "J.J."; mother-in-law, Mary Kanis (Louie Munoz); father-in-law, Ted Kanis (Bev Sutak); sister-in-law, Kaitlyn Kanis (Brian Freday); brother-in-law, Brian Kanis; niece, Kaylee Williams; nephew, Lucas Williams; close cousin Grace Sumitra; special friends, Chad and Tara Halley; and numerous aunts, uncles and other cousins.
