James Tucker passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2022, with his brother at his side. Jim was born in Johnstown Pennsylvania. He lived the first years of his life in Pennsylvania near the Corbett family farm, where he was surrounded by loving family and many mischievous cousins who he remained close to all his life. He moved to the Akron area when he was five years old. Jim attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from East High School where he lettered in swimming. He attended the University of Akron, receiving his Bachelor of Education degree. After graduation he moved to Boston, where he worked in banking and made several lifelong friends. Jim transferred, with his friends to the Annapolis Bank and settled in Arnold Maryland where he lived for more than thirty years. Jim loved the Chesapeake Bay area. He loved to sail, go crabbing with friends and watch Navy football. Jim loved being near the Naval Academy and loved being a tour guide for many friends and family. He was also a diehard Browns and Indians (Guardians) fan. Jim moved back to the Akron area in 2017 to be nearer to family. He became an avid fan of University of Akron men's soccer. He was adopted into the "Parkinson's buddies breakfast club" and enjoyed many activities with them. Jim was a modest man. He loved his family and worked hard to be everyone's favorite uncle. He loved spending time with family and especially loved to watch the Tucker great nieces and nephews play soccer. All of the nephews and nieces, and great nephews and nieces have wonderful memories of Jim. He was much loved and will be sorely missed. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Frances E. Tucker nee Corbett and father, Merrill D. Tucker. He is survived by his brother Robert Tucker (Susan) and sister Jane Tucker (Dale). He is survived by many nieces, nephews and mischievous cousins. Cremation has occurred. A celebration of life will be held at Goodyear Heights MetroPark Lodge, West Room, on May 30, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm (2077 Newton St., Akron OH 44305).
