James E. Walkley

James E. "Jim" Walkley, 62, passed away July 23, 2019 with his family by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio to James and Barbra (Snyder) Walkley, he was a lifelong Akron area resident. Jim was a hardworking man and was always dedicated to providing for his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, bowling, playing putt putt with his grandkids, telling jokes, giving people nicknames and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by aunts, uncles and a nephew. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Shelley; son, Jeffrey Walkley; daughter, Angel (Joey) Walkley Urban; grandchildren, Jordyn "Cheeks", Carly "Wiggles" and Jayden "Little Man"; sister, Debbie (Mark) Gilbert; brother, Donnie Walkley; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Jim's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the awesome folks from Harbor Light Hospice who cared for him.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, July 29, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. The funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make donations in Jim's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
