James L. Walters, "Jim", age 78 of Springfield Twp., passed away on December 17, 2020 at Barberton Hospital.
He was born on April 5, 1942 in Akron, the son of the late Harold and Frances Walters.
Jim grew up in Tallmadge and was a 1960 graduate of Tallmadge High School. He then went on to work at Goodyear Aerospace, Aircraft Braking Systems, for 39 years retiring as a Warranty Manager.
Jim never met a stranger and everyone that met him loved him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his beautiful granddaughter, Ashley, his pride and joy.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia "Pat" (Litz) Walters, whom he married December 7, 1963; his three daughters, Lori (Bart Foster) Randall, Julie (Jeff Ferguson) Walters and Lisa (Alfred "Al") Pickett; and granddaughter, Ashley Pickett; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, James is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Conley.
Per James' wishes there will not be any calling hours or services and cremation will take place.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Lung Association in his memory.
