James M. Whitacre
James M. Whitacre, 54, of Green, passed away August 28, 2006. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nella Whitacre; brother, Edward Whitacre; and brother and best friend, Herbert Whitacre, Sr. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel Whitacre of Green and Jeffrey Whitacre and fiancee Erica Shacklett of Green; sister, Nancy (Dan) Goodhart of Tallmadge; brother, William (Barb) Whitacre of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Whitacre of Uniontown and Paula Whitacre of Akron; grandchildren, Oliver and Dakota. He was also Uncle Jimmy to his niece and all his nephews. Everybody loved and respected Jim or Jimmy or JW as he was known around the community. He had a great sense of humor and had to make everyone laugh no matter the situation. He needed to help everyone.
"You will be greatly missed, but we know you are with your family. Until we meet again, you'll always be in our hearts and thoughts."
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2445 S. Arlington St. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com.
