James R. Wilson

James R. Wilson, 87, passed away on March 1, 2007. He was born in Jackson, OH on January 1, 1920 to the late Walter and Grace Wilson. James was a WWII Veteran having served with the US Army Red Arrow group in the South Pacific Campaign. He retired from Akron Standard Mold after 28 years of service. James enjoyed fishing and most importantly, spending time with his precious grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Survivors include his loving wife LaVonne of 57 years; son Jerry (Becky); granddaughters Leslie (Dan) O'Sullivan, Malisa, and Kimberly (Gary) Murray; great-grandchildren Sean, Bryce, Ethan, Josiah, and Brennen; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 3 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
