Janet F. Phillips

Janet F. Phillips, 68, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2016 in Barberton OH after a long battle with cancer. A beloved wife, mother and friend. Married for 28 years to her husband and sole mate Frank M. Phillips Sr. Janet retired from First Merit Bank. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in addition to walking her dogs Otis, and Sadie at Lake Anna, and Silver Sneakers.

She is preceded in death by her son, Douglas E. Smerkol .
Janet is survived by her husband Frank Phillips, Sr.; children; Darlene ( Nelson),Frank M. Phillips Jr. ( Heather ), Vicky Lunsford, Krista Phillips; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Jasmine,Leslie, Cameron, Skylar, Candice, Billy, Emma, and Analysa. Janet leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
