Janet Ruth Gilpin

Janet Ruth Gilpin, 75, of Akron, passed away on October 12, 2018.
Janet was born in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania on April 17, 1943 to the late Ralph and Sadie Christner. Janet was an outspoken person with a great sense of humor. She had many interests, including collecting frogs, playing cards, visiting the beach and casinos, and listening to politics on talk radio. She spent most of her life raising her family and then spent several years working at Hincor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Gilpin; and siblings, Betty Christner, Eva Hotchkiss, Ray Christner, and Jim Christner. She will be dearly missed by her children, Dwayne (Vicki) Gilpin and Rhonda (Steeley Jr.) Rapier; brother, Jack Christner; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Brother Matt Ridener will officiate. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
