Janet J. London

Janet Joann London (nee Rhoades), 82, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2016. Janet was born in Vestaburg, Pennsylvania on February 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Lewis and Leota Rhoades. Janet was a devoted mother and loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren. She was a kind, loving and very generous woman who opened her doors to all of the neighborhood children and anyone who needed a helping hand. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing, and she attended Millheim Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, James London in 2002; brothers, Dwight, Ellsworth and Lewis Rhoades Jr., and great-granddaughter, Chassity Barber.

She is survived by her children, Denise Joann (Jerry) Lemasters, Deborah Sue Cain and Keith Allen Davis; sister, Myra (Dallas) Cottrell; granddaughters, Christine, Brandy, Amy, Nicole, Aleena and Malisa; grandson, Jamie; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; dearest friend, Jim Bisson; family friends, Randy Craycraft and Dawna Baldridge, and many other family and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where the memorial service will be held at 7 PM. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park at a later date.
