Janet Eleanor Nichols

Janet Eleanor Nichols, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 26, 2018. She was born on September 21, 1934.

She was a life- long resident of the Akron, Ohio area. She was employed by The Ohio Match Company, Babcock and Wilcox, and retired from the A. Schulman Company. Janet was a born athlete, and enjoyed playing organized softball and competed in local tennis tournaments.

She was an active member of The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and showed her faith in Him by facilitating her bible class' prayer chain for several decades. She loved her church family and thought it a joy and privilege to serve her brothers and sisters in Christ.

The love of Janet's life was her children, grand-children, and great grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mary Pochucha, and her brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Lois Pochucha.

Janet will be deeply missed by her children, Diane (Nick) Lazor, Denise (Larry) Chimento, Lance (Penny) Popiel, and Dean Popiel; grandchildren Carl Chimento, Samuel (Natalie) Popiel, Timothy Lazor, Jareb (Brittany) Popiel, Luke Popiel, Andrew Lazor, Charity (Matthew) Byrd, Elizabeth Popiel, Jeremy Popiel, Aaron Lazor, Michaela Popiel, and Danielle Popiel; great-grandchildren, Jolene, Whit, Henry, Peter, George, and Martha Popiel, Twins, Daisy and Jordanna Popiel, Elijah and Jairus Byrd, and two great-grandchildren on the way.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio at 12:00pm.
