Janet Marie Stratton

Janet M. Stratton passed away after several valiant battles with cancer on August 14, 2023 at the age of 74. She was born in Akron, Ohio on June 4, 1949 to the late Clarence and Beth Peacock. She graduated from Hower Vocational School and went right into cosmetology, retiring after 52 faithful years. Janet loved to shop and visit the beach. She was the epitome of a caregiver to all. She was a true force to be reckoned with and she was a mom figure to so many.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Richard Stratton.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tina Harris, Lisa Erb (Jason Main) and Amanda Bowling; step-son, Richard T. (Nancy) Stratton; grandchildren, Chelsea Dawn, Abby (Kyle), PJ, Xander and Xalynn; step-grandchildren, Daniel (Haley), Jeremiah, Naomi and Sarah; special friend, Bill Martin; longtime friends, Kathy and Gene Taylor, Gloria Garland, Bobbi Keller and Linda Pirt.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 2pm until the time the Funeral Ceremony begins at 5pm at Newcomer, Akron Chapel.
