Janice Lynn Dwyer, 67, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on September 11, 2023, after a very long fight!
Janice was born in Akron, Ohio, on June 12, 1956 to Clayton and Marcia Sandy. Janice lived in Akron all of her life, and raised her two children along side her husband of almost 49 yrs. She had a love for helping people, which led her to earn a diploma in nursing. She was employed by Colonial Gardens, and Genny's Home Healthcare. The Anchor Cafe was her favorite past time job. Janice had a love for gardening, playing bingo, camping, her family and friends, social gatherings, and Harley Davidson. She will be remembered for her heroic, energetic, sassy, fearless and strong-willed personality, and her ambition to live.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, David, mother-in-law, Catherine, sister-in-laws Sarah and Angie, sister, June, and beloved animals Pretty Boy and Spunky, along with many other relatives and great friends. She is survived by her husband, Woodley, children, Jeremy and Vengalee (Frank), grandchildren, Jeremy Jr., Shawna, Alex, Austin, Paityn, Brett and Karter, and three great granddaughters; Siblings Linda (Jim), Connie, Randy (Donna) and Chad. Brother-in-law's, Ronald, Robert (Karen) Gregory (Nancy), and Clyde (Shirley). She is also survived by her cherished dog, Cody and many nieces, nephews and other "adopted" siblings.
The family would like to give a special thanks to CC Hospice and Midwest Home Care who provided her with a very special aide, Micyah Washington.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, September 20 at 12:30 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Per Janice's request, she would love for people to wear red and purple (preferred Harley) shirts in her honor, along with jeans.
